Safe Deposit Boxes at a Bank

Who Gets In? Who's Kept Out?

Only people who own a safe deposit box should be let in.

Authentication Factors

To prove that they own a safe deposit box, people will have to type an eight-digit password. Then, to filter out any phonies, the verified people will have to get their thumb print scanned.

Error Handling

If the system breaks down and refuses entry to safe deposit box owners, they will be given restitution. If the system lets in "bad guys", the police will be called and the safe deposit boxes will be locked down.

Cost

A thumbprint scanner is very expensive but necessary because fraud will be difficult. On the other hand, a keypad is affordable.
